We recognise that our children come from different backgrounds and enter school with different experiences, abilities and interests.

At Doxey Academy our aim is to help children become responsible, respectful, active citizens who make a valuable and positive contribution to our society, achieve social mobility and raise their aspirations. Through a focus on skills and knowledge, students are equipped to pursue their dreams and meet high academic standards. The personal development of our children is taught through a mixture of what we teach, how we teach and the daily interactions we have within school.   

Our personal development curriculum develops our school values of resilience, kindness, self-belief, integrity, and ambition, while also supporting our focus on fostering a deep love of learning. We ensure we build a strong understanding of society and how individuals contribute to it. With opportunities to excel and enjoy their experiences, children develop positive self-esteem, internal motivation, and pride in themselves and their community.

We actively promote and develop all pupils understanding and appreciation of British Values, (tolerance, rule of law, democracy, individual liberty and mutual respect), SMSC (Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural), Modern Britain and prepare them for the culturally diverse world that we live in. 

Our Personal Development curriculum extends beyond the national curriculum and offers unique learning experiences which provide pupils with an enriched cultural capital. As a result, they leave primary school not only with treasured memories, but as confident, well-rounded individuals prepared for secondary school and life beyond. This holistic approach ensures that students are ready to face future challenges with ambition and integrity, take pride in their achievements, and embrace a lifelong journey of learning, growth, and contribution to society.
