Reception- Our 4-5 year old provision

Our Reception class is located in a large, spacious classroom with a large outside area. The children experience a balance of discrete teaching of daily Phonics lessons, Number, our Story Book Curriculum and adaptive teaching sessions which develop the specific areas of learning, adult-led activities and child-initiated activities. We follow the Read Write Inc scheme for Phonics which follows a systematic, synthetic phonics approach, ensuring that all children learn to read words and simple sentences accurately by the end of reception, with their reading books linking to the sounds they know.
